Austin Tyler - One Week Old

We've been working to get some new "portraits" of baby Austin for everyone to see. Here are a few of my favorites for you to enjoy. I've been working even harder to get new pictures of Katie with Austin, but she is totally against that idea right now. I did manage to trick her into one picture (seen below), but that's all! Hopefully I will be able to get some new pictures of Katie later this week. If I don't, it's definitely not from a lack of trying!

I hope you enjoy the new pictures.

Our 2nd precious gift from God!

Our handsome little boy!

Look at my little boy already holding his head up!

Such sweet little feet...

Katie and Austin

Well, we have already had a full week with our new little addition! The time goes by so quickly!! Our first week was full of recovery and lots of transitions, but, evenso, it was a great week.

Katie loves being a big sister. She has done well, but it has been hard for her especially since Mommy is physically unable to do most of what she's used to me doing. We decided to go ahead and start her Hands On Homeschooling program yesterday to help with that. It gives her "special" Mommy time, and she is loving it!

Austin has been a great baby, just like Katie was...SUCH a blessing! He is doing great nursing...he wants to be a strong boy. He'll be going for his weight check toward the end of this week to see how he's doing. And he is doing great sleeping, as well. We actually wake him up during the night after 4-5 hours...I think if I allowed it, he would keep sleeping! And, when he is awake, which isn't a huge amount of time right now, he's a quite content little man. He's already doing a great job holding up his head. He loves looking around at all of the lights and movement going on throughout the house. He's only a week old, but he is already growing so quickly!

My recovery is going quite smoothly. I feel great, especially for only being one week into the recovery. My biggest problem is feeling so good and "normal" that I want to do too much, which in turn makes me hurt. It drives me crazy not being able to pick up anything heavier than Austin, especially because I am so used to helping Katie with so much. I never realized how much I picked her up to help her with things until I was not allowed to. That has made it hard on both me and Katie. Luckily, that will not be a problem after my 6 week check-up. I just have to make it through a few more weeks...

Mark is doing great as a new Daddy again. He had to start back to work today, and we all miss him being home with us, but he'll have plenty of time with us in the evenings. He has been a great help to me, especially during the middle of the night, with Austin. I know these next weeks will quickly wear on his body, since he's not getting any solid sleep at night before work the next morning, but I know he wouldn't take it for anything.

My Mom and Megan are still here with us. They will be here this week and part of next week before they head back to North Alabama. It doesn't seem like it should already be time for them to be getting ready to go back. I am so thankful to have their help. I don't know what I would have done without them this past week...especially with Katie! I am so blessed!!

Well, I've written enough for now. I think I've updated you on everything/everyone...at least for now. Until next time...
