Since I've now been "cleared" by my doctor to resume normal activity, I am dying to get back into shape and into smaller clothes! So, I have decided that I will take on the new goal of running.
If you know me at all, you know that I normally hate running...it's never been something that I've chosen to do as an exercise routine. However, I have discovered that after a long, sometimes stressful day with the kids, it helps me mentally and physically to run in the evenings.
My first run was Friday evening. I ran 1/2 mile and speed walked 1-1/2 miles. Pretty good considering I have not exercised (other than chasing after and picking up Katie and Austin) since I found out I was pregnant with Katie in Spring of 2006! This evening I took my second run, and I increased to 3/4 mile running. I was pleased with my progress and hope to be able to increase it steadily over the next weeks.
Hopefully this will be an easy way for me to get away for a little bit and rejuvenate myself mentally and physically after my long days! I'll post more as I go to let you know how it's going ;)
