A Prayer Challenge

I ran across a booklet today, which I had been given years ago as a challenge for wives to pray for their husbands on a daily basis, specifically out of God's word.  I have put this with my Bible, to go through daily, and I would encourage you to join me as we lift up our husbands!

Pray for Him (Prayers 1-3)
compiled by Faith Taylor

Pray for his:
1.  Faithfulness to His Calling
Colossians 1:9-10 I pray that he would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That he might walk worthy of You wunto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Colossians 4:17 I pray that he would that heed to the minister the same one to another, as a good steward of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:10 I pray that as he hath received the gift, he would minister the same one to another, as a good steward of the manifold grace of God.

Revelation 2:10b I pray that he would be faithful unto death, and that You will give him a crown of life.

2.  Compassion
John 15:12 I pray that he would love one another, as you have loved us.

Ephesians 4:1-3 I pray that he would walk worthy of the vocation wherewith he is called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing others in love.  Edeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

II Timothy 2:24-25 I pray that he, a servant of the Lord, would not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if You peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.

3.  Not Distracted by the World
Colossians 3:2 I pray that he would set his affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

II Timothy 2:4 I pray that he would not entangle himself with the affairs of this life; that he may plase You who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

I John 2:15a I pray that he would love not the world neither the things that are in the world.

I'll post more of the prayers later on, but this is plenty to start with.  Will you join me?
