No Fear | Book Review
I was recently given the chance to read "No Fear" by Tony Perkins, as part of a book review program. I was so excited to have this opportunity! Tony Perkins just recently visited my mom's church, and she had mentioned this book to me. I was already well aware of the strong Christian beliefs Mr. Perkins held to, regardless of the world's "popular" views on those specific topics. We need more people willing to stand for Christ as he does. This book is precisely about that.
This book is full of modern day stories (REAL stories) of young and old, who were willing to stand for Christ and His teachings from His Word, even when it wasn't the popular or safe thing to do! No one is too young to stand for Christ. Not one of us is useless in the cause of Christ. One person CAN make a difference. We have stood amongst the crowd of the world far too long. It's time that we, as followers of Christ, take a stand for God's Word, and do what's right, without worrying about what others will think...what repercussions it may lead to. I think back to those first disciples and apostles of Christ. They had more reasons (than any of us in America) to stay silent about Christ, but even so, they were willing to give their lives to tell even ONE person the truth of the Gospel, and many of us struggle to even invite a neighbor to church with us. We need courage for Christ...what better way to spark that courage than to hear of such courageous acts others have done for Christ in our modern age?!
This is a great book for all ages! It's small and easy to read, but oh so powerful to read what so many have been willing to do for the cause of Christ.
I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
