A Worthy Heart | Christian Fiction | Book Review

On the cover, this book immediately grabbed my attention with its beautifully dressed/depicted Irish woman and perfect color choices.  The back cover was equally appealing as it described small amounts of the story lines...just enough to make you want to drop what you were doing and read right then.  I love those types of books!  Without revealing too many details prior to you reading it for yourself, this book begins in 1914 with two siblings' arrival in New York from Ireland to reunite with their brother & sister-in-law.  This book is definitely a love story...but also a story about forgiveness, and so much more!  There are so many twists and turns, multiple stories beautifully intertwined Christian historical fiction novel...I laughed...I cried...I found it hard to put down, and even harder for it to end (now the waiting begins for book 3!).  I will say, I read this book as a "stand alone" book, but it is book 2 in the Courage to Dream series.  And, although it is totally possible to enjoy book 2 without the knowledge and background of book 1, I think you'll be more drawn into the book much more quickly if you started with book 1.  You pick up pieces of the history throughout the book, but they would simply be "flashbacks" if you had read book 1 first, as it was designed.  If you love Christian historical fiction novels, you'll love this!  The writing style is easy to read, the story line is quick to pull you in, and the characters are easy to fall in love with, all while hinging on God's Word.  It's a must read (but be sure to check out book 1, first)!

I received this book for free from Bethany House Blogging Program for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
